Chef Jose Velez serves up some great dishes and old-fashioned hospitality at his cozy Little Falls restaurant. Chef Velez’s eclectic touches and personal hospitality make Toscania feel like a keeper, one that stands out even in North Jersey’s vast collection of neighborhood Italian restaurants.

Velez’s cuisine manifests multicultural influences from his travels. His culinary creations also reflect Velez’s unrelenting good taste, as seen in one of the signature dishes that will show up on the Toscania daily specials menu—his pan-seared diver scallops served with tomatoes provencal, sauteéd spinach, and gorgonzola polenta.

One of the best restaurants located in the small town of Little Falls. Toscania has all of fifteen tables plus a few more outside; but the selection is amazing. For entrees I had the veal Milanese with Mozzarella & Arugula Balsamic and my wife tried the pan seared grouper over Caponata & Meyer lemon Beurre Blanc. Again we were agreeably pleased with the display, taste, composition, and arrangement. There was nothing not to like.
We had our company holiday luncheon at Toscania Trattoria last week. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Each and every one of our employees had the greatest meal. The outstanding service, the friendly atmosphere, and the reasonable prices were all noticeable and appreciated. Great… Great…Great… Place!!! Our sincere compliment to chef Jose and Peter who was terrific.
There was something very homey, comfortable and most of all delicious in this place- a warm welcome, a nice ambiance and let me say it again the food.
The menu is extensive enough to satisfy most palates and Chef Velez will customize any dish to your needs- e.g., I do low carbs so I had the Chicken Michelangelo grilled instead of stuffed and with beautifully prepared vegetables- the chef added a port wine sauce which made it outstanding. Our friend had grouper and said it was among the best he’s ever eaten and my wife totally enjoyed her chicken Milanese .
Prices are moderate, reservations seem required. We will return
